Knocker Club

We are starting something new every Wednesday starting March 2, 2016 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.  We will be getting together to make “Knitted Knockers”. Knitted Knockers are special handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies or other procedures to the breast.  They are give out for free for women who request them.

I will have kits available for purchase and the free pattern.  You will need to bring your double point needles and if you already have soft washable cotton at home and want to use that you are more then welcome to use that for the knocker.  The most request colors are neutral, pastel colors or flesh colored. Other colors are also request so any color will work.  We will be filling the knocker with polyfill so if you would like to bring some from home that would be great.  The knitted knockers are small projects and a good knitter can complete them in about 3 hours.

So come and join us Wednesday and help our fellow sisters out in their time of need. Everyone is welcome the more hands the merrier.
