The Beanie Hat

With bulky weight yarn and size 10 (6 mm), 16" circular needles: Cast on 66 stitches and join the work, being careful that no stitches are twisted.
Work as follows: Knit 2, Purl 1, across all stitches. Continue in this fashion until you have knitted 5 1/2".
Begin decrease round, changing to double pointed needles when needed: Knit 1, Purl 2 together over all stitches (44 sts). Work with Knit 1, Purl 1, for 3 rounds.
Next round: SSK over all stitches, knit last stitch (23 sts). Knit 3 rounds. Knit 2 together over all stitches end with knit 1 (12sts). Break off yarn and draw through remaining stitches. Weave in ends. Block.
